The LMT Association organized this April the fourth complete Thru-Walk, from Marajayoun in the South to Qbaiyat in North Lebanon. The objective of this event is to promote the LMT and Lebanon as a world-class travel destination and consolidate support for the trail’s long-term protection. This unique annual event will always:
Remind the Lebanese people of the need to protect their heritage
Support rural economies in trailside communities
Promote responsible tourism as a viable economic activity
What usually happen during the 2012 Thru-Walk?
During the course of this 29-day journey, the LMTA and its partners did:
Organize a Thru-Walk launch event in Marjayounn (April 1)
Planed daily hikes covering all 26 sections of the LMT (one day per section)
Provided food and lodging in local guesthouses
Organized a Thru-Walk press conference in Qbaiyat (April 29)
