Biological Corridor (BC), is an ambitious program to monitor biological and environmental changes along the 440 Km LMT corridor. Demography and climate change are putting a lot of pressure on our fragile ecosystems. Lebanon?s mountains, like many other ranges in the world are under threat. The BC program will help track and understand these changes to inform local authorities and policy makers to take active measures to halt and reverse these trends. Along the LMT corridor, we intend to monitor the flow and temperature of high-altitude springs, urban encroachment on the public domain, state of forest including fires and regeneration, endemic plant species, wildlife, and agricultural practices |
